Our approach
Our approach combines advanced measurement technology with engineering expertise. By integrating precise data collection with smart modelling, we ensure every project starts and finishes with confidence.
A total station is an advanced instrument that measures distances, angles, and heights with extreme precision. By combining distance and angle measurement with technologies such as electronic distance measurement and precision lenses, it is highly versatile for shipyard and construction projects.
Multiple functions in one device ensure maximum accuracy, more efficient processes, and broad applicability across different environments.
At Kortels, we use a sphere with integrated prism to reflect light beams, allowing fast and exact distance and angle measurements. Every point, from glass and railings to ceilings and decks, is measured with care using our Sokkia equipment. The data is then used to create pointclouds, digital representations that our engineers transform into reliable parts for production.
All measurements are directly linked to Rhino software, enabling immediate analysis and verification. This saves time, reduces risks, and ensures accuracy from the start.
Our approach
From pointclouds we develop surfaces and accurate 3D models that reflect the onboard situation precisely. Output can be delivered in multiple formats (3dm, step, dwg, dxf). If required, we provide full engineering up to complete production files; a total solution with maximum efficiency and minimal error risk.
Pointclouds are collections of points in space. They provide a visual basis but lack surfaces and details. That’s why they are only the starting point – for production, a full 3D model is always required.

Our approach
Our engineering team turns accurate 3D data into practical solutions. Whether for interior or mechanical projects, we design with production in mind: efficient, reliable, and ready to build.
Using our 3D models as a foundation, we design interior components and systems in TopSolid Wood and AutoCAD, delivering engineering solutions that fit seamlessly into production.
Based on our 3D models, we also support mechanical projects. This includes FEM/FEA analyses, strength calculations, and detailed drawings. With these combined capabilities, we provide full support for the design and optimization of diverse projects.
